Coronation Street stars to visit the show on Saturday 23 January

The owners of an award-winning holiday park business will present the proceeds of a charity event to two of soapland’s favourite actresses at The Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester.

Jennie McAlpine and Debbie Rush, who play Fizz and Anna in Coronation Street, will join the team from Pure Leisure Group at the EventCity show on Saturday, January 23 at 11.30 am on the Swift Group stand (2-7) where they will be awarded cheques totaling £30,000.

The money – raised at a glamorous ball held in the grounds of Pure Leisure Group owner John Morphet’s Cumbrian home last July – will be split between Moodswings, which was set up by Jennie’s father, Tom, and Cash for Kids – a nationwide organisation that works with sick, under-privileged and disadvantaged children. Debbie is a patron of the latter.

Both actresses attended the Pure Leisure Group ball, alongside fellow Corrie star Antony Cotton. The 13th event of its kind, the ball featured an auction of items that included diamonds, golfing holidays and a luxury stay at Mr Morphet’s exclusive Royal Westmoreland estate in Barbados.

Pure Leisure Group, which owns and operates a portfolio of 11 caravan parks and luxury lodge developments including South Lakeland Leisure Village on the edge of the Lake District, has raised more than £1 million for charity since Mr Morphet set it up in 2004.
